Where to stay in Dominica will be one of your biggest questions while planning your getaway to the Nature Island. The key to finding a good hotel depends on your traveling preferences, but the beauty of Dominica is that it’s an island that is only 289.5 square miles, which makes it slightly larger than Singapore. If this is your first time visiting Dominica a few of the factors that will determine where to stay in Dominica will be its convenience and close proximity to banks/atm’s, food, shopping, nightlife, and activities. Although Dominica is fairly small, it’s packed with natural beauty. No matter where you are on the island, a river, waterfall, natural swimming pool will always be within reach.

Where To Stay in Dominica ?

The Fort Young hotel in Dominica’s capital of Roseau will be your very best best when choosing where to stay in Dominica. Within a less than 10-minute walking distance you’ll be near several banks, various shopping stores, and a plethora of food and bar establishments. Arriving in Dominica, I decided to pack light for this trip and only brought a carry on. Needless to say, when I arrived, I was in desperate need of hair and skincare products. Within a 5-minute walking distance from the Fort Young hotel is a convience store that has just about every hair product imaginable along with a slew of other things such as make up and skincare items.

When staying at the Fort Young Hotel in Dominica you’ll have plenty of choices on which natural attractions you’ll want to see. Your only conundrum would be, how many activities you can fit into one day.

Choosing where to stay in Dominica shouldn’t get any better than staying at the Fort young hotel. In addition to the hotel being in close proximity to all of your essentials and natural landmarks, the hotel has everything that you’ll need while on your vacation.

The Fort Young Hotel is nestled along the coastline of the Caribbean sea and serves as more of a seaside resort as opposed to your average hotel. At the Fort Young, you’ll have the option of choosing from a plethora of tours and experiences such as whale watching and diving. The resort offers some of the best traditional creole dishes that you can find on the island for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Although I didn’t have the opportunity to visit, The Fort Young Hotel has a world class waterfront spa. You’re able to choose from a wide variety of massage treatments and can have the option of receiving them from the comfort of your own room or balcony. The best thing about their spa treatments is that it’s tailored to your own specific needs. After traveling or trekking through Dominica’s natural terrain all day, this can definitely come in handy.

I don’t consider myself a foodie, however, the best part of the hotel experience for me was the food! After being out all day exploring, I often times came back to the hotel starving. I loved not wondering about what restaurant I was going to find food and enjoyed the convience of having food sent straight to my room as apart of the hotel’s room service experience and enjoying what I’ve ordered on my balcony.

Besides the food, the views that you get while at the Fort Young Hotel a are absolutely phenomenal. This makes it an easy, but excellent pick when choosing where to stay while in Dominica. From the hotels lobby, restaurant, rooftop, every location that I frequented while at the Fort Young Hotel had amazing views.
