It’s March and spring is peaking around the corner. Are you prepared? I know here in New York it seems like spring is centuries away. Nevertheless, you must be prepared when the warm weather creeps upon you. Soft, feminine, luxurious with a hint of edge is what this spring is all about. Pastel colors are the go to colors this season. Women with paler skin tones should stick to the bolder spectrum of the pastel colors to better compliment their skin complexion. Don’t be afraid to try prints either; florals will be really big this season. They were seen on the runway from designers such as Christopher Kane, Dries Van Noten, Narciso Rodriguez and Thakoon. Incorporate wide leg trousers and even wide leg culottes into your wardrobe; they scream ultra chic. They are great for making you appear slimmer, leaner and longer and should be a must have item for every woman under 5’5 or women with with a long torso and short legs. Along with wide leg trousers to create an ultra chic look, jumpsuits will be a perfect addition. Jumpsuits are extremely versatile and can be worn to the office, happy hour, out running errands for the weekend and even to a black tie affair. Sheer garments which were seen on the runway way from designers such as Jason Wu, Zimmerman and Zac Posen are excellent in creating a light and airy attire. Also, this season we are upscaling the cropped top. No super toned belly is required. These are superb for layering and being long enough to wear with high waisted bottoms without showing the midriff. Even though a black biker jacket will always be a timeless staple, this season we’re adding a little color to it. The color will give your outfit a fun and flirty element that we’re striving for, but the biker jacket, itself, will create a contradicting edge. Also, my favorite wardrobe piece this season will be the white dress. No matter the season, occasion or material that the dress is made from it can be worn anywhere. Buy multiple white dresses of different fabrications, textures and lengths to wear to any event or outing. They are great for achieving a clean look and skin tones that are olive toned and darker can pull of a white dress flawlessly.
