It’s almost one week until traveling to Antigua Guatemala. I lived and traveled throughout different parts of the United States, but this will be my first time EVER traveling out of the country. Did I mention I was traveling solo? Did I also mention that I only bought a one-way ticket?! Yes, Yall… I’m traveling to Antigua Guatemala solo and on a one-way ticket! I know that’s one hell of a combination for someone who’s never been out of the country before. I love adventure, I’m constantly seeking new experiences, and I get bored extremely easy. There’s not on part of me that’s scared or nervous about my journey. The only thing that makes me feel unsettling is not receiving my passport in time. Unfortunately, I waited until the very last minute, almost two weeks ago, to apply for my passport.

For the first few days in Antigua Guatemala, I will be staying at The Good Hotel. They were extremely gracious enough to sponsor my stay. The Good Hotel has a chic minimalistic take on traditional design aesthetics and offers an array of amenities for their guests to enjoy. The hotel offers provides a lush green garden for their guests, has a kitchen, a meeting and work space, offers yummy snacks, delicious breakfast options that are served a la carte, mouth-watering food choices, and a bar where they serve drinks all day. In addition to hotel providing food, they offer vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free, and lactose-free options. This is an amazing hotel choice for health-conscious travelers. You can book The Good Hotel by visiting their website.

For the remainder of my stay, up until the 23rd day of June, I’ll be in an Airbnb that’s only a 10-minute walk from the town’s center. After the 23rd of June, it’s all up in the air at that point as to if I’ll stay in Guatemala or visit another country. I don’t like putting too much planning into traveling, it takes the excitement away. I prefer to let my spirit guide me. Want to receive $40 dollars in travel credit on your next Airbnb stay?! Click Here!

Stay tuned to my editor’s diary and Instagram page starting May 23rd!! I’ll be documenting my journey throughout Antigua as well as proving tips, advice, and all things travel related.
