Summer is here and the sun is out in full force. Yes, we all love this weather. Being able to soak up some vitamin D is much needed by many people. Unfortunately, trying to find balance in wearing cute office workwear pieces that will keep you cool is something hard to find. You seem to change your garments year round to reflect the season that you’re in, but for some reason your khaki, black, and blue slacks worn with your assortment of neutral colored button downs has been in rotation since the beginning of the year. I’m a firm believer in showcasing your personality through the clothing that you’re wearing no matter where you are. There are countless trendy summer office workwear pieces that are presentable for every aspect of the office, from going to meetings, casual friday, work luncheons, meeting with clients and when you’re just sitting at the desk. When updating your summer work wardrobe choose lighter and more breathable fabrics such as a thin cotton or a crisp linen garment. Loose fitting garments, like this draped midi dress, should always be a summer go-to. Break away from the classic pumps during the summer time and opt for a sandal heel, cute flats, or a pair of sling back heels.
Look 1: Cold Shoulder Top & Textured Tailored Pant
The sky blue cold shoulder top and textured tailored pant is a contemporary look that can be worn for work occasions during the day and in the evening. The sleek tailored pant paired with the hip length top will be sure to flatter any silhouette. No matter your body shape open shoulder tops are a great way to show off skin without looking risque’, especially at the office. Always remember that the one place that women hardly ever gain weight is their shoulder so show them off!
Look 2: Floral Blazer & Floral Wide Leg Culottes
Floral is in and I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon. It doesn’t matter what your aesthetic preferences are there are many floral print options to choose from. Each season brands and designers showcase their version of a culotte (a mid-length loose fitted pant). Trade your out of date office pants for these on-trend floral printed culottes. All of the office ladies will be envious that you were bold enough to step outside of the typical mundane workwear uniform. Pair your culottes with a white camisole or any fun loose fitting top. Top this look off with sandal heels or a cute flats.
Look 3: Floral Jacquard Tee & Premium Jacquard Skirt
This is my favorite look of the summer office workwear pieces. Unfortunately, depending on where you work you might not be able to pull this off. For women working in creative industries in progressive fashion-forward cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, this is definitely a look you’ll have to try! This can be pulled off for day or evening. If you want to be on the safe side, adding a longer shirt underneath the cropped floral tee is a sure way to make sure your boss doesn’t pull you aside to reprimand you about your choice of dress.
Look 4: Structured Blazer & Textured Slim Pant
This look screams “In Charge” and “In Control”!! No matter what position or job title you have you’ll be sure to get either a raise or a promotion wearing office clothing such as this structured blazer and textured slim pant. Just in one look your ensemble says that you’re not only in control of what you’re doing, but you’re a natural born leader who knows how to look good while doing it. The slender silhouette of the pants will be sure to minimize bigger hips while the structured blazer gives an hour-glass shape. The striking baby blue color is a great hue for the summer and can be worn with an array of complimentary colors.
Look 5: Sleeveless Linen Jumpsuit
Back in the days when I worked in an office, jumpsuits were always my go-to piece when I dreaded getting dressed. This sleeveless linen jumpsuit is ridiculously easy, extremely flattering, and will be sure to spark a conversation or compliment. Jumpsuits are an effortless way to look chic and neutral colors are season-blind; they can be worn during anytime of the year. Wear this office workwear jumpsuit as is or throw on a slinky cute cardigan. Most dress shoes such as pumps, sandal heels, flats, or kitten heels can be paired with this jumpsuit.
Look 6: Split Front Floral Wiggle Dress
Ahh Yes… Another floral piece! If you have an edgy personality and feel the need to soften your rough edges a bit without looking too frilly, then this floral print wiggle office workwear dress is a perfect compliment to your personality. The darker colors in the dress gives an edgy appeal while the floral print and figure hugging silhouette assists in balancing out the garment. Heads will definitely turn and I’m most likely sure you’ll be the hot topic during water cooler conversations.
